I am a follower of the Darbar and I can suggest a few books which I personally have benefited from:

1. Belayat-E- Muttaleka written by Osi-E- Gawsul Azam Hazrat Syed Delawar Hossain Maizbhandari

I dont remember the second one but its about Bishwa- Oli Shanshah Hazrat Syed Zia-Ul- Huq Maizbhandari.

All these books are available at the Darbar.

I am a follower of the Holy Maizbhandar Sharif Darga and heard that a new site has been launched for people who are interested to know about our beliefs.

We do not believe in racial or communal stereotyping, rather we believe that one can get closer to Allah in which ever way is comfortable to him.

@ Nazia: You might hear people saying different things about the Darga, but should it been me, I would go for myself at the darga and see what actually is happening.

it is interesting to note the common threads that links all the major theologies and philosophies of the world. we are all looking for, regardless of creed or caste, the ultimate truth, only difference is the every belief system has a different interpretation of how to achieve that.

Glad to find your post about Umbanda in Brazil. I lived in Rio for two years and was able to see many Umbanda and Macumba ceremonies. If you have the chance I hope you can leaern more about this interesting topic. I recommend the wonderful Brazilian writer Jorge Amado. One of his best books is called Gabriellia, Cinnamon and Glove.

Its wonderful people with different faith are accepted here, i feel that there is something innately beautiful in people coming together and praying irrespective of their religious backgrounds.
