~Thoughts On Love~

I drank from the fountain of love so that the water may purify my lips so to speak of it, but when I saw Love….Silence prevailed. Before when people asked me about the delights and wonders of love I would have so much to say and in those words they found satisfaction. But now when Love draped me in His robes, I became one of those who asked questions. I then looked for someone to explain to me my heart and its essence. When Love approached me, its face shone bright like the face of the moon. Its hair was black as ebony, lips with colour and texture of roses and its marble eyes burned into my skin and ignited the fire in my heart. Love, as He came near me, consumed my faculties and melted my desires and emotions. At the sight of Love, I was listenting to what I could not hear, pondering on what I did not understand, staring at what I did not see and I submitted myself to an unseen power that slayed me and then gave me life again. How I longed to feel Love’s breath, breathe life into me……. Love, a thick mist that enshrouded my soul on all sides and veiled the outlines of existence from me – or allowing me to see only the specters of its desires . Love, He was the magical ray of light that shone from the depths. Love, He was the heat that could melt any heart of stone into a prisoner of his desires. Love, He held me captive with the look of his eyes. He set me into a trance that saw no end. Love, He ate my heart out, the more I craved for him the more I bled. Love, He intoxicated my senses. How I long for you to live within me and set my soul free.
